Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen has confessed she "had to have words" with her son over a decision he made.
The beloved shepherdess appeared on ITV's Lorraine on Tuesday morning (April 29), engaging in conversation with host Lorraine Kelly about her new building venture.
Speaking directly from Ravenseat Farm, Amanda also divulged details about her decision to homeschool her son, Sidney.
Last month, Amanda took to Instagram to announce that she had begun homeschooling one of her nine children. At the time, she chose not to disclose which child it was, sparking curiosity among her followers.
During today's interview, Lorraine queried: "As if you've not got enough to do, I know one of your kids, Sidney. he wants to be a farmer, doesn't he?" reports Leeds Live.
"So, you've decided that you're gonna homeschool him because he'll be learning. But that's a huge commitment again, Amanda, to homeschool one of your kids."
Amanda then clarified: "Totally is. Yesterday, I actually had to have words because he had a maths tutor thing, but he also wanted to help Reuben fell a tree. So, it's like that balance, 'What's the most important thing, what's the most pressing thing'.
"It's all about striking the right balance. Nine children, they're all very individual characters. They've all got their different ideas and different skillsets, and for Sidney, he's quite focused. He knows what he wants to do and he's very, very aware of the fact that he needs an education."
She elaborated: "An education can mean many things, and I believe that an education can mean a work ethic, empathy, an ability to be able to turn your hand to anything, and to be able to communicate and to be able to grow up to be a decent human being. I think sometimes that can be really overlooked.
"Sidney is absolutely living his best life, he's enjoying himself. He's been involved in the farm, he's been involved with his older brother Reuben, who is his hero with engines. I just feel like you sometimes have to take a little bit of a step into the unknown. It was a scary prospect, but I think it was the right one."
Amanda, along with her ex-husband Clive, are returning to our television screens with the eagerly awaited new season of spin-off series Our Farm Next Door, premiering tonight on More4.
The programme follows the family as they tackle the challenging task of restoring a rundown neighbouring property they purchased. The show's initial run last year garnered a warm reception from viewers.
The official synopsis teases: "The hard work continues... but there's also plenty of laughs in store. Balmy sunny days, a winter wonderland, goats in coats and the return of Tony the Pony as we enjoy Summer to Spring in the new series of Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids."
Our Farm Next Door returns to More4 at 9pm on Tuesday, April 29
